MACHINE OPERATOR III DESCRIPTION: The Machine Operator III is capable of setting up and operating at least one CNC and non-CNC types of equipment to produce parts requiring the use of all capabilities of these machines. Must be very knowledgeable in blueprint reading, use of gauges and other instruments and equipment, able to re-tool and make minor tool adjustments when required.
EDUCATION & SKILLS: Approximately one year experience on some types of equipment, 1-3 years on most experienced type of equipment. In some cases, more than 3 years may occur on most experienced equipment. Must possess good communication skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: May require moderate lifting of items up to 60 pounds or heavier with assistance. May require standing for long periods time up to 12 hours daily, continuous repetitive motion, ability to review workmanship on work, ability to work under different temperatures and possibly climates, possible exposure to fumes and smoke from equipment operations. May need to operate on short deadlines with more than one source of supervision and work assignments. Overtime may be required at times. Must attend on occasion meetings before and/or after normal work hours. INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING OPPORTUNITY General Responsibilities: The Industrial Engineer will have project responsibility to evaluate operating costs and implement cost improvement plans to meet company financial goals. The IE will provide support in a manufacturing environment where challenges vary as business shifts. Scope: The IE will plan and implement current and new engineering projects, and measure the results achieved. The IE will evaluate facilities, equipment, layouts, processes and systems for modification or replacement. Will procure and implement new equipment and facilities. The IE will plan material flow and material handling. Will evaluate operating costs and implement cost improvement plans in all areas to meet company financial goals. Will support bids and proposals for current and future customers. Will develop technical training programs for professional and hourly employees. Will research, recommend and develop new manufacturing processes and handle customer contact on related projects. The IE will provide engineering problem solving support throughout the facility. The IE will be responsible for standards, routers, hourly rates, bills of materials and engineering input to the Resource Planning system. Qualifications: The IE must have a BSIE or equivalent with 2 to 4 years of experience. The IE must have an organized and professional approach to manage projects. Must have analytical problem solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies. The IE must have good computer skills, verbal communication skills and written communication skills to work in a team environment. A plus for experience with Resource Planning, scheduling tools, and customer support.
